About
Tijana Mišković holds an MA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and a PhD from the University of Copenhagen. Most recently, she worked as a curator and researcher at SMK – the National Gallery of Denmark.
As an independent curator, she has collaborated with venues across Denmark, including Kunsthal Aarhus, Nikolaj Kunsthal, Viborg Kunsthal and Den Frie, as well as internationally with institutions such as MSU – the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, El Centro de Desarrollo in Havana, and the Museum of African Design in Johannesburg. She has also organised seminars and exhibitions as part of major international events, including the 54th Venice Biennale, Manifesta 8 and the Liverpool Biennial.
In her work, Mišković explores how migration and multiple cultural affiliations shape artists’ perspectives on subjectivity, cultural identity and national belonging. She has a particular interest in transcultural approaches to contemporary art, examining the intersections between national, cultural and generational boundaries.
