Artworks by Vladimir Tomic and Ana Pavlovic now represented in the collection of SMK -The Danish National Gallery

Two videos by Vladimir Tomić and Ana Pavlović, screened at Tijana Mišković's seminar at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, acquired by SMK – The Danish National Gallery.

Vladimir Tomić and Ana Pavlović — both Danish artists with Ex-Yugoslavian backgrounds — are now represented in the collection of SMK – The Danish National Gallery. After being screened at the seminar Looking for Another Space of Belonging at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, two videos — one by Vladimir Tomić and one by Ana Pavlović — were acquired by SMK for the nation’s largest collection of art.

This purchase is more than a financial support and professional acknowledgment. It can also be read as an institutional statement regarding diversity — encouraging a critical revision of concepts such as nation state, national identity and national heritage, which in the present time of migration and mobility urgently call for redefinition.

Tijana Mišković expressed pride in working with both artists and gratitude to SMK for recognising the quality of their work and considering their videos relevant for a wider audience and important to preserve for future generations.
